Realtor Talks Downsides of Selling Roloff Farms
TLC fans are waiting for more information on the future of Roloff Farms. Matt Roloff from Small people, big world Currently owns 100% of Roloff Farms, but has chosen to put several acres of the farm property up for sale. Here’s what the farm’s real estate agent said in terms of the “disadvantages” of selling the place.
‘Little People, Big World’ star Matt Roloff has listed several acres of Roloff Farms for sale
Small people, big world fans want to know what’s going on with Roloff Farms. On May 15, 2022, Matt Roloff announced via social media that he planned to sell several acres of Roloff Farms property. In his post, he noted that he wishes he could keep all the property within the family, but that’s not how it ended up working out.
“The bad news, as you can imagine, is how difficult it was for me to even sell 16 of the 108 acres of the Roloff farm,” Matt wrote via Instagram. “My ultimate hope was that all of Roloff Farms property would remain in our family for generations to come. Keeping that dream alive at that time just wasn’t meant to be. cannot be legally divided into multiple parcels.
Matt then indicated that he planned to keep 93 acres of property for himself. “The GOOD news…you never know what the future might hold for the uncharted and pristine acres of ’93’ that remain in the Roloff family for all to enjoy!” he wrote.
Has Roloff Farms been sold? The real estate agent talked about the downsides of selling
Many Small people, big world fans expected the 16 acres of Roloff Farms to sell out quickly. But it appears the farmhouse is still up for sale in early July 2022. Real estate agent Juli Martin, principal broker at boutique agency LUXE, spoke to Forbes about some of the challenges of selling such a famous location.
“I think people feel personally connected to this house in a way that’s different from just ownership that they think of as real estate,” she explained. “They feel like the house itself is a character they’ve come to know over the 20-year history of this show – there’s already a heightened emotional connection that feels like home because he’s been in people’s living rooms.”
She then noted that Roloff Farms has an association with “drama” due to the TLC series – and that can make it a tough sell. “Plus, people have watched the house evolve – they know every detail of every renovation,” she added. “There is no mystery. They can browse the images and find out exactly what was done and when.
Why didn’t Zach Roloff buy the Roloff farm?
Zach Roloff considered buying Roloff Farms as exposed last season on Small people, big world. So why didn’t Zach buy the property? According to the agent, no agreement could be reached for the sale.
“We worked with one of Matt’s children for about a week to try to keep the sale of the property within the family before moving forward with putting the house on the market,” said explained Juli Martin to Forbes. “It just didn’t materialize on the choice of said child, who went in another direction.”
Since the sale fell through, Zach and Tori Roloff have moved to Washington. Zach noted that he hasn’t spoken to Matt much since moving.
“I haven’t spoken to my dad much lately,” he said during a confessional.
Small people, big world airs at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
